2024 and all that!

I thought I’d give a sneaky-peak at some of the books I’ll be reading and reviewing next year.

The Moor’s Last Sigh by Salman Rushdie. Won the Whitbread Novel prize in 1995. A birthday present from Hubby.

Unsettled Ground by Clare Fuller. Won the Costa Novel prize in 2021, the 50th and final year of the awards. A birthday present from my sister, Tina.

Mean Time by Carol Ann Duffy. Written before CAD’s tenure as poet laureate. Winner of the Whitbread poetry award in 1993. A Christmas present from Hubby.

The Book of Dust Volume One (La Belle Sauvage) by Philip Pullman. Prequel to His Dark Materials trilogy. Loaned by my friend Sara.

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. Won the Costa First Novel Award in 2018. Another great Christmas present from Hubby.

Time Shelter by Georgi Gospodinov. Winner of the 2023 International Booker Prize. Translated from Bulgarian by Angel Rodel.

Prophet Song by Paul Lynch. Winner of the 2023 Booker Prize. Bought with my birthday book voucher from my brother-in-law, Mark, as was Time Shelter.

What Writer’s Read ed. by Pandora Sykes. 35 writers share their favourite books. A Christmas present from Tina. Should give me extra ideas for more lovely books to read.

Happy New Year everyone!
